Partner Highlight: Dr. Issa Hanna UF Jax Health

We are so in awe of the heroes around our community. It is important that we all become aware of the diverse work, people and agencies that are creating solutions around substance use issues.

Today, we honor Dr. Issa Hanna. Dr. Hanna is a 3rd year resident at UF-Jax Health in pediatrics and works tirelessly on substance related issues as they impact babies, youth and their families. His focus has ranged from the effect of vaping to substance abused newborns and his work moves regularly from research to action.

Recently, Dr. Hanna was awarded the Anne E. Dyson Child Advocacy Award by the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Pediatric Trainees for his project titled, "Facing the Fume: Community Advocacy to Address Youth Vaping Crisis". He will be honored at the 2020 Virtual AAP National Conference and Exhibition (NCE) in October for this terrific achievement. But it doesn’t stop there: Dr. Hanna just won Top Research Abstract at the 2020 FCAAP Pediatric Resident Forum.

Enthusiastic and warm congratulations to Dr. Issa Hanna for his exceptional dedication and terrific work!
